INTERNSHIP INFORMATION

Overview

Harbor Internship offers young adults a discounted and accredited education in coordination with Moody Bible Institute while serving in a thriving local church. This program will offer you practical ministry experience while supporting your academic pursuits and building a network of friends and partners, all while you have fun in beautiful Colorado. We will equip you with practical ministry skills, deepen your theological knowledge, and nurture your spiritual formation, empowering you to grow as a leader and servant in God’s Kingdom, whether in ministry or the marketplace.

Details

  • Harbor will provide at least 15 hours/week of hands-on ministry experience in a vibrant community. 

  • You will meet with pastors and mentors to intentionally develop your ability as a leader in diverse contexts.

  • You will receive an accredited, discounted, theologically rich education through Moody Bible Institute.

  • You will gain spiritual and academic growth as we support you this year to know and experience God deeper.

  • Harbor will connect you with a host home from Harbor who has been through our extensive application process.

Expectations for Interns

  • Harbor Church expects interns to spend at least 15 hours each week doing ministry.

  • Interns will successfully complete 2 or 3 classes each 8-week session through Moody online toward a certificate, associate, or bachelor's degree program.  

  • Interns need to provide their own reliable transportation to and from ministry-related responsibilities.

  • Interns must pay the $2,500 housing fee in full before each semester begins.

Intern Requirements

  • Must be between 18 and 24, have graduated from High School, or have a GED. 

  • Must have received and acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior.

  • Must be able to agree with Harbor Church's beliefs.

  • Must be enrolled in Moody online classes starting  August 19, 2025. You can apply for classes HERE.

  • Must have a reliable working laptop.

  • Must actively participate in the life of Harbor, including involvement in cohort group activities and engagement in learning sessions. 

  • Must be willing to follow the Harbor Church Code of Conduct.

  • Must pass the background check required for all Harbor staff and volunteers.

  • Must provide for your regular monetary needs as this is an unpaid internship.

  • Harbor offers a 30% discount off your tuition, before fees, with Moody Bible Institute.

  • You will spend at least 15 hours/week working in your area of ministry focus. You can click HERE for a better idea of what your weekly schedule will look like.

  • Yes, as long as your job does not interfere with the internship expectations.

  • We will provide you with a host home from Harbor who has gone through our extensive housing application process. It will cost $2,500/semester to cover food and other expenses.

  • Personal expenses will be on you to cover. You can estimate to spend $2,000 -$4,000 on food, transportation costs, and other expenses for your 9-month internship.

  • Online classes for Moody will start the week of August 17, but all Interns will be required to move into their host homes by August 12.
