ABOUT

At Harbor Church, our mission is to Welcome Home the Hurting, Equip and Launch the Called, and Make Jesus Tangible one life at a time.

Here's the deal, Harbor Church cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. We are a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom. If you have ever felt different, messy, or like a failure, then welcome home.

BELIEFS

  • God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is perfect and holy in every way. He has no beginning or ending and has existed in three co-equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; the Godhead. We call this three-in-one unity, "The Trinity."

    (Genesis 1:1,2; John 1:1-3; John 10:30,36; John 14:16-26; Philippians 2:6,6-11)

  • We believe the Bible is God's word. It is reliable and authoritative in all its teachings.

    (Psalm 19:7-9 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; James 1:22-25 Peter 1:21)

  • God made man in His image, yet man disobeyed God, which the Bible calls "sin." Our sin separates us from God. The Bible says that the penalty for sin is spiritual death and separation from God. Yet God loves us and wants a relationship with us, and so He came to us in human form through the incarnation of Jesus Christ.

    (Genesis 1:26,27; Matthew 1:18-25; John 3:16,17; Romans 3:23, 5:12, 6:23)

  • Through Jesus' death and resurrection, the penalty for sin has been paid and death has been defeated.

    (Isaiah 53:5; Romans 6:23; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 4:10)

  • Through a personal confession of Jesus as Lord and belief in His efficacious death, we can now have a living, vital, and eternal relationship with God. This is "salvation." Salvation is God's free gift to us. It is by grace through faith that we are saved.

    (John 3:14-17; Romans 3:21-31; Romans 10:9,10; Ephesians 2:8,9)

  • Physical death is not the end of life...it's just the end to our mortal bodies. To everyone who trusts in Christ and receives His gift of salvation, God promises Heaven: eternal joy and life with Him forever. The Bible indicates that the consequence of rejecting Christ is eternal separation from God's presence. The Bible calls this "hell.”

    (John 3:16-18, 5:24-29, 14:1-6; Romans 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15; Revelation 21:1-8)

  • We are called to make disciples of Jesus. When Jesus was asked to summarize the law and the prophets, he responded (parenthetically) by saying, "Love God and love others." We desire to follow this instruction in all we do.

    (Matthew 28:19-20; Matthew 22:34-40; Romans 12)

VALUES

WHO WE ARE

Where we come from.

Harbor Church was started in August of 2016. We first started meeting in The Oriental Theater in the Berkeley neighborhood of Denver, CO. From there, we moved into another space in Wheat Ridge, CO, where we continued to grow and make Jesus tangible in the Wheat Ridge community. In 2019, we moved to Westminster, CO, in our own space, where we have lived for several years. In 2023, we merged with Centerpoint Community Church. When we began, we imagined a church that was truly welcoming to everyone - where everyone had a seat at the table regardless of personal history, family background, ethnicity, or gender.

Where we’re going.

What's the bottom line? More than ever, Harbor Church is committed to fostering a family built around hope. Hope for the future. Hope for better. Hope for progress. Hope in Jesus. And as we move forward as a church family, the mission of Jesus and welcoming home the broken and hurting will remain at the center of who we are.

What this means for you.
